Project Gutenberg is the first and largest single collection of free electronic books, or eBooks. They currently have over 33,000 eBooks available to download for iPad, Kindle, Nook, Android, iPhone, iPod Touch, Sony Reader, and more. How can they offer all these books for free you might ask? Well, this site relies on lots of volunteers and includes books that are considered public domain. In other words, their ebooks are free in the United States because their copyright has expired, which makes it perfectly legal to share these books now. You’ll find lots of great classics here.
